Simply the Best: August 2014

It’s our anniversary. Me and you have been at this since March and we’ve closed in on the 25,000 view mark. Now that I post at least once a day, it makes writing the top 7 list for the month difficult.

But rules are rules so I will stick to 7. So here they are:

1. THE MALDIVES SEAPLANE: LUXURY FOR THE WORKING CLASS

DSC00726

Would you ever pay $500 for a flight that has no set time for departure, lasts only 45 minutes, and is piloted by a barefoot captain? What if I added that the plane only holds 16 people and takes off and lands in water?

2. SHEIKH DUBAI’S CHARIOT: FIRST CLASS ON EMIRATES AIRLINES A380

It has been claimed by many in the points game that the greatest redemption is aboard an Emirates Airlines A380 with first class service to anywhere.

3. PARK HYATT SHANGHAI: TOO HIGH IN THE SKY

DSC_0177

ight outside my window was the 16th tallest building in the world, the Jin Mao Tower, and what will be the 2nd tallest building in the world, the Shanghai tower. Their powerful presence had me both awe struck and feeling insignificant simultaneously.

4. UNFORGETTABLE: THE ST. REGIS NEW YORK

DSC00004

So fresh n so clean, I lie there in my St. Regis robe grateful for this unforgettable experience.

5. IN-N-OUT BURGER UB STYLE

Animal style? Protein Style? Not quite, but I did have a mouth watering double cheeseburger on the way home after a couple more Chinggis Darks.

6. I NEED A SHOWER: THE TOP 7 SPOTS TO LATHER UP

And now for the best shower experience in the world, the incomparable, the undeniable, the incomprehensible shower aboard an Emirates Airlines A380.

7. HOUSE HUNTERS INTERNATIONAL: ULAANBAATAR, MONGOLIA

Today on House Hunters International, a lawyer leaves the desert of the Sonoran for the grind of the Gobi.
